Tarareando The War de Melee

Aprovechando la noticia de la semana pasada sobre la publicación del nuevo disco de Melee, y recuperando una sección un tanto olvidada, hoy tarareamos el primer y mayor éxito del grupo californiano: The War. Perteneciente a su disco de debut Everyday Behavior, del 2004, The War engloba las mejores virtudes de Melee.

Etiquetados desde el principio como un grupo de piano rock (cualquier grupo de rock en el que el piano apenas suene un poco ya recibe esta etiqueta), lo cierto es que su estilo incluía muchas más características. También es cierto que su música ha ido evolucionando, y suavizándose, con el paso del tiempo, convirtiéndose en un banda de pop rock muy melódico y edulcorado, lejos del rock alternativo donde parecían ubicarse en sus orígenes.

En cualquier caso, The War fue un sencillo de presentación perfecto para el cuarteto californiano. Un estribillo contagioso, guitarras acústicas y eléctricas mezcladas y un ritmo ligero visten este bonito tema que, como dicen los americanos, es muy "upbeat". El vídeo y la letra a continuación:
