Tarareando Belong de Deccatree

Ahora que el grupo californiano Deccatree está finalizando un nuevo álbum, es un buen momento para recuperar el que puede ser el mejor tema que han publicado, Belong. Corría el año 2004 cuando la banda de Chris Karn sacó su disco de debut llamado Battle Of Life, cuyo tema estrella era el mencionado Belong.

Atlantic Records fue la discográfica encargada de editar ese álbum, que contó con la producción de John Shanks y Chris Lord-Alge y que recibió un buen número de críticas positivas. Tuvieron la oportunidad de salir de gira con Michelle Branch, una artista un tanto olvidada en la actualidad. Pero poco duró la alegría, pues la relación del grupo con la discográfica pronto empeoró debido a las políticas de la empresa.

Volviendo a Belong, durante el año siguiente a su publicación, la canción formó parte de la banda sonora de un buen número de series de televisión. En definitiva, se trataba de un tema que resumía acertadamente las habilidades de la banda, y sobre todo el nivel como compositor de Chris Karn: letras personales y profundas que se mueven encima de una melodía muy pegadiza y emotiva que crece a cada segundo que pasa.
